Watching a muskrat running across the thin ice today. He would run a couple steps and break through. Back on the ice and through again. Took him about fifteen minutes to cross over forty feet of ice. I had some belly laughs going. Found this video on muskrats to share.

As a child my family consisting of Mom and Dad, two brothers and a sister, spent several months living in a tent. We were fulfilling my father's dream of building a resort in Southern Missouri on Table Rock Lake. We lived in the middle of forty acres making campfires often to stay warm and cook various meals. The technique described in this video, would have worked great on some of those cool, early fall nights.

We love our bald eagles on Webster Lake in Massachusetts. Every year since we have been on the lake, the pair has born young. They are certainly doing their share to increase the population in the state and country. We have seen one or two born each year. The eaglets leave the lake by the end of summer and seek their own paradise.
What successes have you experienced with conservation programs?

Today I was sitting and watching a squirrel go round and round on our bird feeder.
They can be entertaining. Some thoughts on squirrels:
|* Can be Entertaining, give Laughs||* Can be Destructive|
|* Can be Cute||* Can Populate quickly|
|* Can be Brave||* Can be Persistent|
|* Good Problem Solvers||* Can carry Disease|
|* For the adventurous, Can be Cooked||* Can drive you Nuts|
